Partner and Vice President of EGS Matt Landschoot P.E. received the Outstanding Engineering Achievement Merit Award for Geotechnical Engineering from The Engineers Council and the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County in 2024. This statewide award was held in conjunction with the 2024 Florida Awards for Aerospace and Aeronautical Achievements in Florida. Matt was selected for the award due to his geophysical advancements regarding sinkhole (karst) evaluation and remediation. This prestigious award is given to one individual a year who has made advancements in the field of geotechnical engineering.
President & Owner of EGS Judy Hayden, P.E. received the Outstanding Service to the Engineering Profession Award from the local Big Bend Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society and the state-wide parent chapter of the Florida Engineering Society. This prestigious award is given to an Engineer who has had a significant positive impact on the engineering profession within the local chapter and for the whole state.
Geotechnical Project Manager Katie Ball, P.E. was awarded the 2022 Young Engineer of the Year Award by the Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. This is a prestigious award that is given to only one new engineer throughout the entire state each year.
The FAMU Way Reconstruction project in Tallahassee, Florida received a National Recognition Award at the 2022 ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards. This award is given to projects that demonstrate “exemplary engineering service”. This project involved environmental, geotechnical, and geophysical services and working with multiple firms and the City of Tallahassee.
Partner and Vice President of EGS Matt Landschoot, P.E. received the Engineer of the Year Award for the State of Florida in 2022 by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Matt was first selected as the Engineer of the Year Award winner by his local ASCE Jacksonville Branch in 2021. Then his Jacksonville Branch submitted him for consideration for the Statewide award.
Katie Morales won the 2022 ASCE Florida Section Young Engineer of the Year award.
Katie Morales won the 2024 Northeast Florida E-Week Young Engineer of the Year award.
One of the most important awards we strive for is local engineering society project of the year award winners. These are just a few of the American Public Works Association (APWA) Big Bend Branch Project of the Year Awards for projects of which we were a part.
Supporting our local ASCE and FES University Societies is a priority of our firm. We routinely sponsor Florida State University, Florida A&M University, the University of Florida, and the University of North Florida's Student Chapters, so that we can provide support for the engineers of tomorrow.
In 2018 our Field Manager and Vice President Matt McConnell was awarded with the Florida Groundwater Association (FGWA) Member of the Year Award. Matt has been extensively involved with FGWA for over a decade and served as the FGWA President in 2018.
Operations Manager and Vice President Tom Hayden, P.E. was awarded in both 2016 and 2017 with the University of South Florida's Fast 56 Award. This award is given to the top 56 fastest growing businesses that are managed by USF Alumni.
Geotechnical Design Manager and Vice President Matt Landschoot, P.E. was awarded as one of the National American Society of Civil Engineer's (ASCE) 2014 New Faces of Civil Engineering. This is a prestigious award that is given to 50 engineers each year throughout the entire United States.
